A Writer's World Blog Tour

I have been invited to participate in the world blog tour by my friend,Nancy Bolton. Her blog posted last week at http://boltonnancy.com/2014/05/26/my-blog-hop-post-about-my-writing-process/ and it was a lot of fun!

Nancy and I met online in a critique group. I have enjoyed reading Nancy's brilliant compositions and look forward to seeing her published soon! Nancy Bolton lives in rural upstate New York. A wife of 41 years, mother to 5 sons, and grandmother of two, she writes a variety of Christian fiction and creative non-fiction. Her debut novel, a contemporary romance entitled “The Right Ingredients” comes out this September with Prism Book Group. She also writes historical romance and women’s fiction, a Christian fantasy series, and is working on a children’s book. Her focus is on how a character’s life and heart changes through their spiritual relationship with God, and her hope is that her stories will inspire and edify the reader, as well as entertain.

For this blog, I was told to answer 4 questions then introduce 3 writers who will do the same on their blog posts next week. So here we go.

What are you working on?
I am currently have two projects going. I'm blessed to be working on the Declaration of Independence Series with a fantastic author team. I am super excited about this inspirational and historically accurate series.

I am also working on the second book in my Days of Messiah Series, The Messiah's Sign. It will be releasing sometime in late summer or early fall.

Ever since his baby sister's tragic death, Tyrus has been over protective. Just when he thinks he has everything under control, his world is turned upside down when his wife contracts the most feared curse of all: leprosy. Believing she has been unfaithful and will not repent, Tyrus banishes her to the leper colony. Ridiculed for his decision, and suffering financially, he struggles to protect his son amidst chaos. But when Malon begins following the teacher from Nazareth, what remains of his business and reputation is at stake. Can he save his son from the beguiling lies of a false Messiah before he loses everything he has left?

For those of you waiting on the edge of your seats for the next volume in Days of Messiah, I'm going to have a special release in June that is a short story entitled The Saga Begins. You'll have a chance to meet Tyrus as a sixteen year old boy as his family flees from Rome. They settle in Capernaum and he meets Aaliyah and her family. Hopefully that will hold you over until I can finish The Messiah's Sign. ;)

How does your work differ from others in its genre?
I strive to create wholesome, riveting fiction that brings HIStory to life, while keeping it Biblically and historically sound. My goal is to create stories that encourage Godly morals.
Why do you write what you do?
I love to read, but as I got older it became increasingly difficult to find good wholesome books to read. I write because God has placed stories on my heart along with a burden to create something that people can enjoy while learning about HIS-story and how HE wants us to live.

How does your writing process work?
God places the stories on my heart and I have to figure out which one He wants me to write first. Sometimes that's a little bit tricky. :)
Next, I make a bit of an outline so that my story will make sense. I talk it over with my writing buddies, do a lot of praying, then I start writing.
My best trick is that I will make an outline of the scene that I'm going to write during that session as well, because it helps me write a lot faster if I know what I want to write.

There it is! Hasn't this been fun? Well, it doesn't end here! Next Monday, three of my friends are going to be hopping along side me! Be sure to check out their blogs next week.

Natalie Monk writes inspirational historical romance spiced with southern humor and small-town oddities. Her writing has won several awards in pre-published contests.

A country girl from the time she could shimmy under a string of barbed wire, Natalie makes her home in North Mississippi. She proudly wears the label of “preacher’s kid,” and is a homeschool graduate, piano instructor, part-time portrait photographer, and certified wedding-planner. She loves sweet tea, girl talk (usually about books), porch swings, and watching old movies with her family.

Natalie's goal in writing, and in living, is to bring glory to Jesus Christ. She loves meeting new authors and readers. Come chat with her at: http://sweetsouthblog.blogspot.com

Lorna Faith loves all things romantic, creative and adventurous. In between the fun with her husband and 4 teenagers, she scribbles away on her next novel. She is always looking for ways to connect with more people to chat and encourage them on Facebook, Twitter and on her blog RawStoryLife or her Podcast.

Last stop is author Patti J. Smith.
I am a married, grandmother of two (three in August). I recently retired after working as a federal auditor, elementary school secretary and background investigator. I'm a caregiver to my parents and uncle and now have time to pursue my passion of writing. I have written poetry since childhood; however, heard the calling to write devotionals. Through my work I hope to spread the message of God's endless love, mercy and compassion. Along with writing devotionals I also write Light Romance and Mystery/Thrillers

My ministries include singing in my parish choir, co-leading Rachel's Hope Post-Abortion retreats in San Diego County and serving as a Regional Coordinator for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, travel and spending time with family and friends. I'm also a football fanatic (NFL and Fantasy) and a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan.
